my Photographic Journey in
by, George Kuchler
I'm feeling inspired as I'm watching the Super Bowl Game at my house with my family. My daughter Ellie asks, "What team are we pulling for?" and I say the Eagles. She asked "Why?" I said because we always pull for the under dog and I have past groom on the Eagles team. I explained to her how Malcolm Jenkins was a groom of mine and I have followed his career ever since. I told her when he wins tonight he'll have 2 super bowl rings from the Saints and the Eagles. She smiled real big and shouted "GO EAGLES!"
My entire career has had this sexy yet timeless endearing after effect to all the work I have laid down.
Truth be told, I have always believed in the person, not their job! The star effect from their job has never had anything to do with me. I love breaking through the mold of celebrity and finding that real person inside. I think this is what I have loved so much about my job. The simplest form of getting to know someone makes me a little more special then the next guy. I'm still amazed with what the camera brings me. If I worked any other 9 to 5 job I wouldn't have the stories I do. When I talk about certain people you my know as a celebrity, you get excited about WHO they are, I get excited about the personal side I know of them.
I LOVE REAL! Don't you?
Photography at it's core is as real as it gets. The lens strips away everything you can hide behind and says "Here I am"... lets show the world reality. My favorite part of the camera is the shutter button. When I press it, how I press it determines the outcome of the story in front of me. This is photography.
